About
Herts Pulse Summary — super-powered by AIIn Standon, The Star Standon is the sort of gastropub regulars use for lunch, dinner or a coffee stop on High Street. It takes bookings, does takeaway and has free parking, with wheelchair access, outdoor seating and dogs welcome. Families and larger groups are catered for too, so it works just as well for a planned meal as for a more spontaneous visit. The food is what brings people back, with customers often mentioning fresh, well-finished dishes and a menu that feels thought through rather than routine. Sunday roasts come in for particular praise, and desserts such as sticky toffee pudding have also stood out. Service is another strong point, with staff described as friendly and attentive. It’s a place that appears well thought of locally, without making a fuss about it.
